You can use a java IRC client or you can download one.  I strongly suggest downloading one as java IRC clients are teh lame.  To find a java IRC client just do a google search for one.  To download one go to:

I'd go with XChat, it's niftier.  You should be able to find instructions on how to connect via the websites.  It's pretty simple once you get the hang of it.  Both programs are pretty user friendly.  So get your bitch asses on IRC.
